Hector is relaxing on a lawn chair outside of his new country home, surveying the nearby hillside through a pair of binoculars, when he catches sight of what appears to be a nude woman amidst the trees. Hiking up to investigate, he is attacked by a sinister figure whose head is wrapped in a grotesque, pink bandage. Fleeing in terror, he takes refuge in a laboratory atop the hill, where a lone attendant ushers him in to a peculiar scientific contraption. He emerges what seems to be moments later, only to find that he has traveled back hours in time, setting in motion a brain-twisting, horrifying chain of events when he inadvertently runs into himself.

The first movie from the Che story stars Benicio del Toro and directed by Steven Soderbergh. The movie is 4+ hours and was broken down into 2 diferent movies while surprisingly shot in spanish. Pretty big gamble on their end as it might really hurt the box office numbers. It has been getting great reviews so we’ll see if people don’t mind the language and sub titles.

Based on an autobiographical novel by Francois Begaudeau, a drama that follows the year in the life of a French schoolteacher working at a high-school in a tough neighborhood of Paris. Ethnicities, cultures and attitudes often clash in the classroom. As amusing and inspiring as the teenage students can be, their difficult behavior can still jeopardize any teacher’s enthusiasm for the low-paying job. Francois insists on an atmosphere of respect and diligence. Neither stuffy nor severe, his extravagant frankness often takes the students by surprise. But his classroom ethics are put to the test when his students begin to challenge his methods.

Typical movie about a big shot athlete now in the ending stage of his career. Mickey Rourke stars as Randy “The Ram” Robinson and has been picking up some oscar buzz for his role. All the plastic surgery really helps enhance his character and the movie actually looks watchable. Maybe another rocky type surprise.
