i think the book was the best book i have ever read ( including harry potter). and the movie is great, i would rate it a 9/10. It is a Video that makes you question things and to think unlike most hollywood films. Not a good thing to watch when you are tired for you will just get a headache

Not an advocate of putting the Lord of the Rings and Narnia in the same catagory as Harry Potter as in the afore mentioned review because of their religious tone. However, this movie is the exact opposite, and I suggest using caution and your brain and not just absorbing what Hollywood feeds you. The movie is dumbed down from the book, so do NOT buy the book for your children simply because you thought the movie was fine. I am not an extremest and will not picket the movie theatre concerning this film, I simply encourage the use of caution, especially with kids. I am a HUGE Sam Elliott fan and am disappointed to see he's a part of this movie.

Yeah - A CGI polar bear - Who speaks perfectly english - How cute! Nicole Kidman seems like a meanie in this one!? A good old adventure ala Lord of The Rings/Chronicles of Narnia/Harry Potter it seems. BTW I wish for a Aliciometer(spelling?!)/Golden compass in Birthday present if anybody may have one at hand they've stopped using!? Well I loved Chronicles of Narnia which this seems like a copycat of so I might go watch Golden Compass in december '07. If nothing else just to see Nicole Kidman act mean. (for once!)
